Who we are

CLOVER is a Canberra-based landscape construction and design studio, founded and run by husband and wife team, Renee and Glen. We design and build outdoor spaces that are considered, elevated and made to last — both under one roof, by the same hands, from first sketch to final stone.

It started, like most good things, with a frustration.

Glen had spent more than twenty years in the landscape construction trade — long enough to grow tired of watching gardens being treated as an afterthought. Landscapes installed rather than considered; built for the photo, not the decade; corners cut in the structure and groundwork no one sees until it fails. He kept asking the same question: why has that become acceptable? CLOVER was his answer. A studio built on an old conviction — that an outdoor space should be properly designed before a single sod is turned, made to last rather than to impress, and built by people who take real pride in the craft. That's the standard every CLOVER project is held to.

Renee came onboard to bring a design mind to that craft. Trained as an Architect, she reads an outdoor space the way she'd read a building — structure, proportion, light and flow, and always in service of the people who'll live in it. Her perspective shapes every CLOVER landscape from the first line on the page: spaces that are resolved and intentional, grounded in how you actually want to live outdoors, not simply planted and paved.

Between them, CLOVER closes the gap that costs most gardens their quality — the handover between the person who designs and the person who builds. Here, they're the same studio. The design holds its intent all the way into the ground, because the people drawing it and the people making it work side by side.

We're a small studio, and we intend to stay that way. It means you deal directly with the people doing the work, you can trust what we tell you, and the garden you end up with is the one we promised you.

Considered ground. Built to last. Made to be lived in.
